    Default plastic bumper smashed

when reversing a trailer I jacknifed it so there was some pressure on one side of the rear bumper which smashed it, seems the plastic bumpers also become weak and brittle over the years, along with all the other plastic on the VL.

seems mine was left out in the sun a lot so it may be worse than some, fortunately I have a spare rear bumper

anyone had smashed plastic bumpers from a small knock?

yer its normal, i believe the bumpers are made out of ABS which is a plastic type that isnt very flexable but his sturdy
so over the years they have became even more brittle which results in snapping not bending like newer model cars do,
