Thumbs up wicked VL!

Hi,
Ive just joined the forum.
I recently bought a VL comodore with a 3liter v6 moter and auto for $1100
I have a bit of money saved for it and my plans for it are:

-pioneer sound system
-momo steering wheel and seats
-racing pedals
-boot wing
-turbocharged jen 3 moter
-pacemaker esstractors
-shift kit
-crome exhaust tip (with led lights in it)
-22 inch wheels not shore what style yet

I plan to do everything myself including the motor but I dont have much experience. I know how to change the air filter and spark plugs and some stuff like that but i will need some help when i put the new moter in so i will be on here heaps asking lots of questins, lolz

so yeah just saying hi,
jake

"gen 3" motors with a turbo on them make some respecable power
pacemaker extractors.. good idea
chrome exhuast tip with leds- fail..... get a real exhuast. for a turbo v8 ud want something like a twin 3".
shift kit - what kind.. if you wanna chirp 2nd get a transgo stage 2 shift kit and corvette servo
dont put a "wing" on the boot... leave it clean lol
22" on a VL.. hard to pull off but very possible

Transgo don't make shiftkits for the VL auto. There is very little available in terms of a VL shiftkit.

looks like you have a plan but you will have to alter some idea ,

-if you were to fit a turbo you wouldnt run extractors of anysort, a turbo has its own type of exhaust manifold
-as stated before the tran would be diffrent for a gen 3 so you would have to possibly widen the trans tunnel to fit it, or even alterations the engine bay to get the gen 3 to actually fit
-exhaust is a personal choice but you will find everyones opinion will be simular, no cannon or led exhaust
-22inch rims??? why so big?
you will need to look at this long and hard, they wont just fit straight on. might need mini tubs and diffrent diff set up so it wont scrub
-spoilers on a vl is a no no in my eyes unlease its of a design which orignally came on a vl

i don't think you should have to specify that.

i think it goes without saying and he should have read what was written better. lol

i dont think a vl 6cyl auto box would stand up to the torque of a turbo gen 3 even at idle. lol not to mention getting it to fit up.

Have you read the original post? You think someone that wants 'esstractors' with a chrome LED exhaust tip has thought it through that much?

People don't do all their modifications at once, and im fair sure a shift kit would generally come before a turbo Gen III conversion.

Also, I don't think any stock commodore auto box will handle a turbo Gen III very well mate.
