How to tell if factory manual or auto ?

Hi,

87 Calais - how do you tell if its factory manual or auto ? nothing on the build plates I can see and the VIN just decodes as Calais Turbo. Can see the trim, axel codes etc.

Also, white/silver 87 Calais turbo, interior in poor condition, a little rust around windows, boot etc. approx 170k's - No engine mods, pretty much stock - manual - whats it worth ?

at the bottom of one of the build plates it says ''trans'' it should have ''mx7'' next to it if its a factory turbo manual or ''mf5'' if factory NA manual. i think auto is ''lm4'' or something like that
