    Default another question about thermostat

    Where the f%^ck is it lol,

    sorry guys but i am trying to replace the thermostat on my brothers vl but when i checked the housing it was nowhere to be seen, correct me if i am not wrong but it is the top hose of the rad that the thermostat is in sync with?

    Ive tryd to look on here and the net also on how to replace it and didnt find much atall, any help would be muchly apreciated.

    follow the large rad hose to the engine block
    u'll see a 3 12 mm bolt housing there near top of altenator ....its in ther the thermostat

    ahhhhhh, was going to the wrong inlet/outlet to the engins haha idiot, cheers for that mate

    heres a pic for yah, the lower housing with 3 bolts has the thermostat
    its inline with the water pump

    the stick on type thermostat gasket is easier to use, with an ordinary new gasket the job can be fiddly to get everything lined up

    dunno mate havnt checked it yet but deffinently runs cooler so it looks like it must have been, i just bought some gasket material down at supercheap and made my own gaskets, do that sort of **** at work so it was all good

    u can test by boiling the thermos in hot water and see if they open and close

    yeah the genuine thermostat didnt respond to the hot water.
