Default ECU leds not showing up,what now?

Well I've taken readings of the green and red led's.And what's coming up is 14,23,24,31.Appears all correct.
I turn screw full clockwise and engine labours and slows,is this what's termed "get home mode",when all the sensors are disabled?then return it midway where it runs nice.
No other led's come up apart from the above.Mystery!
All i can think of is the AAC not working(what does this do?)
Anyway i think my car uses too much fuel around town although it runs well as far as idle, response, starting all seem perfect.
any clues as to why i'm getting no led's up?

    cheers
    colin.

Yeah,i had mine replaced about 1 year ago because of that,i think it may have been a blocked vent above the firewall that caused that.
I'm going out tonight so i'll see if they crank up while out cruising.I know the old one did about ten years ago.

    Did some multimeter tests yesterday.
When i remove the temp sensor (yellow)wire engine speeds up,don't know if this is correct responce.
The AAC valve((in front of plenium chamber)has a hose leading to the inlet.Blocking this off has no effect on engine speed. Also pulling wire plug has no effect.
Only have to test voltage on oxy sensor today.New one is $86 from Burston parts,Nambour.
I'm thinking AAC valve is the culprit leading to heavier round town fuel consumption

Opps, not the AAC valve, but the air regulator.
Going by the troubleshooting guide i need to test voltage in the oxy sensor,he doesn't mention the colored wires i should probe though
    cheers
