    Default cant find water leak

My VL was slowly leaking water from cooling system, I replaced radiator cap and checked everywhere for leaks but no sign, eventually added a can of leak stopper which did stop leak, it wasnt leaking under dash from heater either

does this mean I had a head gasket leak of some type and the water was being sucked into engine?

I thought the RB 30 engine didnt have head gasket problems...

are you making any thickshake under the cap? if so i would lead to gasket or head

but have you check every pipe for the cooling system?

check these pipes, most people normally over look these ones

bellow the manifold, note the pipe near the front that runs up and connects to a adaptor on the manifold

the pipe your missing, the pipe mentioned above connects to this at the lower point

the second pipe on the bleader valve runs to the throttle body then out the other side to another connector

that connector before is a pipe thath runs from connector thought the manifold to a 4 way connector which is screwed into the block and leads to firewall, into the block and back to the front

all these pipes are avalible in by mackay besides the rear one that goes thought the manifold, they stopped producing it and i was just lucky enought to find someone wih a old one in stock

You may have a leak from your heater hose, and you may not see it as the water would evaporate when it hits the block.

yer, look for white stain marks which have dripped anywhere,
make sure your coolant also aint splashing out of the over flow tank, you find many have the side against the guard gone from braking down

I was working on a car the other week that had a slight coolant leak. Turned out to be the overflow bottle had a crack in it and the coolant was being forced out the crack
