a mate of mine recently converted his n/a vl to a turbo. it runs on the standard tune, however i took a vl ecu, changed the chip in it to one with a turbo tune on it, but it wont start with this modded ecu. the fuel pump isnt turning on. as far as i know he runs the standard vl fuel system. are there any wiring differences with the vl turbo fuel pump that would cause a standard one not to turn on?

not that i'm aware of but it might be the fuel pump wiring has a different pinout on the ecu?
This is good site to watch.I found it informative as I have been researching a lot lately on such matters such as you talk about.
vl dont use the ecu for the fuel pump the r31's did and thats the only diffrence ill be checking relays
plus what injectors is he running if he is running NA injectors it wont run ion a turbo computer as the injectors are different
i just put a vl calia turbo motor into my vl and the fuel pump dont work either i swapped ecu and ignition computers over but still no luck any help would be good
both motors started before the swap
TRY THE FOLLOWING AND IF THIS CHECKS OUT AND THE CAR ONT TURN ON THE PUMP BY ITSELF FOLLOW THE SECOND SECTION
to troubleshoot this get a test light put it to earth and check the following with the ignition on make contact with the green wire this will turn the pump on if it doesnt there is a problem with the wiring or relay, remove the relay and put 12volt into the socket corresponding with the purple wire and see if the pump will turn on as this is the power feed to the pump
just splice the the power feed wire to the fuel pump relay and wire it into your ignition power, so when you turn on the key to ingnition the fuel pump comes on i think most power wire in the fuse box are orange from memory
if it doesn't have a lion in the badge it not worth having
