checked fuse for the ciggy lighter? also check if its loose, they can loosen up after a while and short the casing to positive and blow the fuse.
Here's a question with the background;
BG: I tried plugging in my navigator, but it won't recharge (kind of a bad thing if u need it while driving), thought it was just the cord, but when i plugged in my hands-free kit plug, same situation -didn't charge.
Q: So if i assume its the lighter/power source, what should i do about it??
If it isn't, no stress, i'll just mooch off the navigator company to get me a new one, lol
-thoughts??

check if the lighter is pluged in all together, i know mine isnt because once you unplug it (to remove dash etc) its a c*** to plug back in.
usually the wires get ripped off when the dash has been removed a few times in its years on the road, or the fuse as mentioned.
