problems starting rb20 in vl

hey i just put a rb20 into my vl after everything went in smoothly now i have to get it started. i hooked up the starter motor and turn the key and its clicking but not cranking then after a while the negative on th battery terminal gets really really hot whats goin on

..do you have the starter motor hooked up the right way?

the terminal is loose thats why its hot

yer i put the starter motor in while the engine was out the car

battery terminal loose? its up pritty tight i guess it culd go tighter

might sound stupid but is the battery charged?, normally they click just before they go completly flat and cant even move the selinoid

na batterty was dead then i put a fully charged battery from my ss in it and it still clicked i have a feling its just a bad earth

have a look at the earth on the engine mount i missed it when i did the 2.5 conversion and it did the same thing. it should be a heavy wire from the battery -'ive to the mount on the engine from memory

yer heavy black wire i put it to the mount connected to the body wasnt on proberly tho... or does it need to be between the engine moun and the block itself?? coz i didnt try that yet

ok i connected the earth well and its still just clicking not cranking i got no idea could there be somthing missed

is the negative battery terminal still getting hot if so its not getting a good connection on the battery terminal hence why its getting hot .twist it around on the terminal a bit.
