hey guys anyone got experience in changing their brake booster for a bigger one?
would a vt/vy v6/ls part fit the 1" master cylinder?
what are your suggestions?
This is good site to watch.I found it informative as I have been researching a lot lately on such matters such as you talk about.
vt boosters need a bit of customizing in the bracket department and you would us the master from the vt
what about the v8/turbo booster? it bolts up just dont forget to grab the strut tower mounting bracket too as its diff to the normal booster one

nah there braket from the back of the booster to the firewall, there was a guide somewhere but where it is i have no idea lol
as for the strut tower bracket, using a vt im not sure but the v8/turbo one is backwards (bends other way) compaired to the other one
also i believe you need some line adaptors for the vt master to the metal brake lines,
the flanges are diffrent

yeah thats why i was keen to keep my vl 1" cyl. might get vp5.0ltr one to match my front discs
i dont mind a bit of sheet metal work but ive never had to replace a vac booster before. mines not rooted its just a stocko vl6 one and i recon i'd get better brake pedal feel with a bigger one.

the booster for models with drum rear brakes waas too small and not very effective, the booster for all disc models was much better and should bolt straight on
mine is a s2 calais with discs all round. cheers guys for your replies

in that case it may just need to be rekitted by a brake specialist to replace the bits that eventually wear out
also check air vacuum hose from intake manifold for leaks
Go to the gym and do some leg presses.
