timing belt!!!

the max ellerys workshop manual says to align the timing belt with 53 grooves between the mark on the camshaft pulley, and the crankshaft pulley (sproket)

anyway! does that 53 include the ones that line up with the teeth?

is there any other way I can easily check that the belt is actually on correctly?

your help is muchly appreciated.

old belt is already off, I should have checked before I removed it (assuming it was actually right in the first place)

one tooth out will just knock your ignition timing out slightly...

if you cant get the timing right after you know its a tooth out

pretty sure the 53 groove is the first one to be on the pully

it came out a car i got a manual conversion off.. from what i know it was running fine they drove it to pirie n back to adelaide without a problem..

a welsh plug on exhaust side seeps a lil tho..

i had the rocker cover off and to be honest it looks dam clean new rear main seal possibly a reco but cant promise anything but i was guaranteed that it ran perfect just needs another waterpump cos i used it n that welch plug which i can supply
