Starter Motor

I have manual vl and I need to replace starter motor and was wondering what the difference is between auto/man starter motors. Also would i be able to use a starter motor from a vb, vk or vn with out doin any convertions? Are they the same sort of starter motors????

you must use a vl starter motor the others are different.
manual and auto starter motors in the rb30 are the same hitachi and bosch (except for turbo)

Yea being a totally different motor in the VL, a VB-VK starter motor wouldnt work. Not even a VB 202 starter will work with a VB 253.

Would anyone have a second hand one that they would be willing to sell as i need to replace mine.

always work with the KISS method (keep it simple stupid) as the starter motors are in a less than accesible location, keep with nissan replacement parts (new or second hand)as they a motor specific, auto manual doesnt matter, just need to suit rb motors, i know a vl starter will bolt into rb20 turbo motors

maybe..... but not an rb30 turbo (hitachi turbo starter motor).
