I paid $2500 for my T5 manual box. (5 years ago) with a harness. Put in myself so that bit cost $0. (ok maybe a carton of beer for my mates who helped watch!!)

so how much would it cost to get a mechanic install it all?

and will it run as if it was always a manual or will you allways have trouble with it

If your really keen on doing to conversion go for it, however you can save yourself a decent amount of coin and problems by simply getting a manual vl. Up to you though just my opinion, goodluck

just got mine back from the mechanic after having this conversion done.
i bought a donor car for $400 so that saved us heaps of $$$ but it still cost around the 1000 mark for labour, a new hd clutch, getting the flywheel machined and some other fiddly bits (throwout and such).

    definately worth it tho.

theres a really good write-up on ct if youre keen to give it a go yourself.
i think this is the link.

    good luck mate
