hello, ive been a member 4 a while here but this is my 1st thread
i just recently bought a VL turbo wagon for a project/daily now it has a few issues, it will ping on boost only once the engine is warmed up (when cold she runs like new) and some time i will be driving along though the hills (not giving it shit) and it will just stall on meso i was hoping someone here could help me out or point me in the right direction, and it is a complete engine out of a VL calais turbo if that helps
thank you, Nick
what kind of fuel are you running?
BP ulitmate
...pinking under load...
1/ check timing
2/ check for excess carbon on pistons
3/ check boost from turbo
.....stalling...
1/ check codes
2/ check connector on crank angle sensor for green corrosion (use wd40 to clean)
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

Check its getting enough fuel.
The hotter your engine is, the more likely your engine is to ping. The farther your timing is advanced, the more likely your engine is to ping. The higher your compression ratio is, the more likely your engine is to ping. The lower the octane of petty you use, the more likely your engine is to ping.
So, in order to minimize the risk of pinging, do the following:
Make sure your engine doesn't over heat!
Make sure your timing is not too far advanced.
Make sure your compression ratio is not too high (< 7.5 to 1)
If necessary, use higher octane Fuel.
If you take care of the first three, you shouldn't have to worry about the last one
Hope this helps bud
just replaced the dizzy and the coil pack and the problem is solvedso now it all runs sweet, thanks all
nick
wow i would have thought to much boost on stock injectors and ecu
Knock sensor, the turbo engines had them.
I can't read.
