Hi people,
you have probably all seen this thread a thousand times but I'm a sheila and am at my witts end cos I know stuff all about cars!!!
My son has a vl 89 that died on him about 6 months ago. We got a new battery, still didn't work! We got a new starter motor....still nothing. Had some mates look at it and they said immobiliser was the problem. After fiddling with it for a while they finally got it to started from the starter motor not the ignition. But...2day we have nothing again. We have managed to get radio, head lights wipers etc but no crank/fire at all?????
nothing not even cranking and as u say have changed battery could possibly Loose wires on Started Motor.
Could be the neutral start swith relay located down near the battery (There is 3 Relays located here)screwed to the body check for working relay/corrosion on spade connectors etc.
Check fuses in fuse box.
Pull the codes from the ECU as well.
To do this pull of the passenger side kick panel. Turn screw fully clockwise.
Ignition ON check for codes. (Red LED represents Tens and green represents Ones.
