    Default Thermo fans question

    Who here has replaced there mechanical fan with thermo? is it worth it? Ive still got new one from my old project hehe 16 inch n 2 smaller twins

    but if im going turbo will it effect the thermos?

    what about with intercooler?

    I dont think its worth it but I dont think a turbo is worth it either, the original fan is fairly good, as long as the fan clutch hasnt failed ( they eventually do)

    the factory air cond VLs came with a second fan, electric on the front of the radiator

    The turbo is factory? If you second guess the engineers here you are taking on trouble. We all know enemy of the turbo is heat, and the engineers made sure it all worked, the mechanical fan being part of the setup. If you remove the mechanical fan, you will decrease airflow through the engine bay in all conditions and this may be enough to cause not only engine overheating but failure of other components due to heat.

    rb30 clutch fan > au thermo set up
    many people have gone the thermo route but some have had cooling problems, most top notch high power vls are still running the clutch system
