What to do with an old VL?

Hey all

I have an old commodore VL Berlina Station Wagon. It is in a pretty tatty state sunburnt etc. but the body is straight, a little rust around the windscreen but appears to be surface only, What I can see anyway.

The question is what can I do with it?

I tried to ring a tow away company and they said $150.00 tops
That seems a shame for this car. Its looked after my family for many years.

Should I go with the tow away offer?
Should I wreck it?
Is it worth putting an ad in the Trading Post?

What to do?

Any ideas would be appreciated

mate if its running fine and just a little ruff
put it in the paper for 1000ono
then if someone knocks you back to 500+ its stilll better then the tow price

Ill swap you a 87 XF GL lol has only done 188,000 km body is straight & faided real oil seal is gone tho lol

It's a VL. You dont even need to leave the keys in it.

I got my parts car (vl commo) Picked up free a month ago and i completely stripped it :P
so they will make no money off it mwahhhhh and crush it :P

I've been wondering this exact thing too. I'm in Melbourne's east and have an 86 white sedan. Everything is pretty good condition except the water pump and rear diff. Haven't driven it in years though... it's sitting at my folks property. Anyone who might be interested just PM me.
