Hi,
My VL has been running rich ever since i bought it, and mate said that a couple bottles of fuel enjection cleaner should do the trick. But bad fuel economy and exhaust spitting black crap out hasnt stopped.
Any ideas?
chedck the fault codes on ur computer, do ur timing bro.. might help the fuel issue.. as for the black crap coming out of the exhaust wow lol, what is it oil?? lol cant help u there... is ur exhaust full of holes??? that can casue fuel issues too..
there can always be 1 issues which creates 10 more bro, lol gotta love the car
is the aircleaner element blocked with dirt?
ay bro
check ya computer led lights (red n green lights)
this is how ya check it
start n run ya car n run for 2 mins n run ya motor on 2000rpm
the let the engine idle
if the green light is flashing more then its running lean if the red light is flashing more its running more rich than it should b
they should flash togetha man about 5 times per 10 seconds
if they dont diconect the acc valve plug and the throttle switch now they should run simultaneously ounce you start the motor again after disconecting these plugs
run for 2 mins again at 2000rpm
then let it idle
and again,if the green light is flashing more then its running lean if the red light is flashing more its running more rich than it should b
if its still not right man
**** around with you afm
ajust the skrew...clockwise leans the mixture, anticlockwise richns the mixture
if you wonna test that your afm is running right man i can explain what it should b reading with a volts metre n shiz
or if ya didnt understand any of me info haha not the best explainer without showing some1 but yeh ill try expain it again if ya dun understand what i siad bro
hope it helped
A faulty oxygen sensor will make it run rich. A faulty temp sensor will also make it run rich. Chech your fault codes as said above. If the red light stays on all the time when you are checking the fuel mixture, it is a pretty good sighn that the oxy sensor is not working.
could be a couple of things...check your coolant temp sensor (not the one for your dash) located on top of the upper radiator hose housing.... or oxygen sensor (depends when it was repalced last).
i had exactly what you said and ended up being the coolant temp sensor was reading a low resistance all the time and running rich all the time.
