Question whats the biggest mags that would fit a 1988 Vl berlina

hey, just wondering whats the biggest mags that would fit on a berlina? Another thing is that my car wont start, it was running and then the other day i went to start it then it didn't go, she sometimes kicks over if i wiggle the gear stick. i have spayed degreaser on the engine and changed the sparks and leads but still nothin.

for your mags mate, theres a folding crimply thing u can get done around the wheel area i forgot what its called which allows more room...a mate says my ride looked like it possible had 18's on it before, now its 15 or 16 i think..

get ya guards rolled and you will be able to fit 22's under, there is a few cars around sydney and melb that have them, HAVIK(ithink) has them, look on street commodores.com

I've got 19's, you can put 20's on.

You need to get the guards rolled by a panel beater, usually involves just taking the wheels off and bashing the lip under with a hammer and a block. Then respraying because usually your paint chips or flakes.

Adjustable panhard rod, 225's would be the best bet. I've got 235's on mine (my tyre guy made a mistake and I'm paying the price)

As for your engine not starting, when you jiggle the gearstick it works? Automatic gearbox? Neautral switch by the sounds of it. I'm not fantastic with auto's, but if you put it in neautral does it start easier then Park?

If it's manual, jiggling the stick shouldn't make a difference.

I've seen 20s fit comfortably with mods.

The biggest you'd get away with without any rolling and moderately lowered would be 18s!

I'd say neatral switch is what your problem would be then, that's a guess - somebody may have a bit more clue with that.

Guard rolling, if a tyre shop does it - 50 bucks a guard. But no guarantees that your paint will stay in tact and you may need to get it done.

If a paint shop does it and retouches your guards - who knows really, depends who you know.

Theres a tutorial on calaisturbo how to do them yourself, but you'll more then likely need to get them repainted if you did them yourself.
