    remove the fuel pump relay
turn the car on and start till it stalls
try starting again and make sure it wont run

this will depressurise the fuel system and will save getting petrol all over your face and what not

lube up the rubber around the fuel filler cap
that is a real bitch to get through

Cheers man, i guess when starting it up after ive reconnected it & turned the ignition on, the fuel pump should have already pumped the fuel back in to the engine? no need to push the pedal?

don't forget, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and take the plate off behind the back wheel to access the filler pipe and vapour hoses. when you have finished and put it all back together turn the key once until you here the pump prime and stop, then turn the key back to off again, then back on until the pump has primed again then start it.
you should never have to push the pedal when starting a vl rb30, if you do there must be something wrong.

also you should check the fuel vapour lines attached to the filler pipe and replace the broken ones.

you should never have to use the pedal to start any fuel injected car.. and should never use the pedal if the car is on gas either. i droped the tank in my calais its not to hard of a job but can be a little frustrating when trying to put it back in. also be careful i found a nice family of red backs living under there

theres a complicated system of fuel vapor recovery hoses that all lead forward to the charcoal canister, these hoses are usually rotted, I replaced mine one at a time with rubber fuel hose

if replacing the in tank fuel pump, get a filter bag that is about the same size as the old one, remember how the old filter bag looks as the pump comes out, if the new bag sticks out too far it will hit side of swirlpot, stopping pump from properly sitting down in swirlpot, causing loud gurgling noises and also car will run out of petrol sooner

remember, the new in pump tank must fully sit down in the swirlpot

Yup Yup. I've had to do this aswell.

Just make sure you draw up a diagram of where everything goes before you start touching anything because one you start pulling things out you're going to have handfuls of hose and nfi how to put it back together
