Default Walkinshaws on drum brake rear???

Hey guys i'm wanting to lower my vl and put walkies on it but i've been told that I cant unless I convert to a disc brake rear. Something about the offset on the wheels and drum brake rear not being wide enough and scrubing out? I've also got a set of 17x8 vr clubbies sitting in the shed I am going to sell so I guess these wont fit either?
    Any help would be gr8

i've heard about this that when the walkies are bolted on somehow they affect the axle/hub making it unable to spin freely, i have put clubbies on a drum rear end and all is sweet, i cant figure out why it would pose a problem with the walkies but all you can do is try,

offset are just rumours because you can convert the drum brake rear to disc using the same axles and housing only difference is the seal on the axle is thicker on the disc rear
the vl runs the same offset for disc and non disc cars, i do know that vn to vr wheels will scrub on the earlier v series cars as the offset changes slightly, and it comes down to how low you go cause the diff to move under the vehicle adjustablle panhard bar allows you to rectify this
if it doesn't have a lion in the badge it not worth having

Yeah i've heard the same thing about walkies but dont understand either. Guess I will just have to try when ever I get some. Might put on the vr clubbies when the tyres wear out on the interceptors. I don't think my insurance company will let me put them on though cos I think they will only let me put on 16x7's and the clubbys are 17x8's. Thats why I was asking about the walkies.

You need to change the drums to disc if you want to put on Walkies. I know, I did it. I used the brakes from a VR and put on new diff seals on the axles as they are different from the drums.
