VL 3.0 RB30 Engine rattle when cold

Hi all, has anyone had a 3.0 that rattles under light revs when cold (sounds like its not pumping oil) but goes away when engine is warm oil is ok, like a slight backfiring sound also motor has only done 140,000 kms.

I guess it could be described as a rattle, would most likely be the lifter noise very common for the rb30, there is a thread in relation to lifter noise and how to clean them but I would suggest an oil+filter change and a bottle of NULON lifter free works for most.

rattle or a Tick Tick tick sound if its Ticking refer Jatsvl post on the Lifters.
I have heard heaps of RB30's Ticking away. Change oil quite regulary so your engine stays clean and does not get gunky from old oil. 20W 50 Viscosity.
