Well i bought another 5 speed calais tonight. specs are as follows.

Body kit: Stock (missing calais skirts)
Engine: RB30E, 3 Litre
Exhaust: 2/12 inch catback with cannon (cannon going asap)
Trans: Converted, mf5
Diff: Stock
Brakes: Stock, Discs all round
Suspension: Lowered not heaps though
Wheels: Polished Calais mags

Has no Rust in usual spots, has all been fixed already, all bumpers were sprayed not to long ago all in mint condition except rear has some scratches.

Future Mods:
- Mags, have VT SS 17s but dunno what will look better out of them or stock back to stock for now
- Replace gearbox (is noisy)
- general clean up
- replace rear lights and garnish, re paint boot moulds
- venetions fo sho have rears need sides
- lowered done

only have the carsales pics at the moment will get some better ones soon.

replaced ignition barrel tonight wiht a bran spanker, got horn working, got all lights working properly. starting to tick some things off of the list. still have to change door locks so they are the same key as ignition

3k. started off at 5.5k then he dropped it down to 3.5, then I knocked it down some more. little on the rich side but I fell in love with it lol

new catback exhaust with 3'' dump tip fitted. tape deck out and cd player installed. new pics tomorrow

replaced in tank fuel pump, got new tail lights not installed yet, waiting on new center garnish calais strip to come so can get everything painted and looking schmick at the rear end. waiting on SSL springs in the mail, also installed amp and sub tonight. sounds really good but now have indicators turning hazards on. disconnected rear loom and they started blinking properly, blinking fast obviously but one at a time not together so im guessing i much have pinched some wires in the rear loom or something while installing amp on false side wall i made. will have to have a look tomorro night or saturday see if i can get another loom the one in there is pretty messy anyway

Venetians are in, have center garnish strips and rear tail lights, am waiting for Calais badge and had to order another left hand side tail light as the one I got is different to the right hand side ( duller and the indicator orange is dull as. So as soon as badge gets here and tail light gets here will fit it all up and get the boot mold and stuff painted.
SSL springs arrived during the week too, need to find time to put them in. new pics on saturday

lol well i know everyone has their own opinion on the whole early and late model VLs. but we all know there's no series. worked out some stuff with my boss and am fitting springs tomorrow during work hours so will be done for C4C, also will be putting stock Calais wheels back on. venetions will be getting painted white but not till new mags and whitewalls and side venetions are in.

just sourced new center electric window switch so should have that next week some time. and trying to figure out something with new mags. after either vt inters or vyss 17s. i kno everyone has them but like the look of them and wanna stay legal for now.
just got some paint for rear bumper tonight so gotta clean that up and respray it will probably do sides and front to as they aren't asteroid silver and don't have the color code so got asteroid silver for rear bar. and last of all may have sourced some side skirts. ill post some new pics tomorrow if all goes to plan

sold the wags mate.

did some adding up and I have already have spent $1000 on it cleaning and tidyng it up including lowering and everything else ive done. adds up quickly. today got calais side skirts and few little covers for interior including the on missing from the seat belt in that last pic posted up.

well may have sourced mx7 box and an LDS for it. am keeping an eye out for a turbo conversion. should be fun when its done

tonight picked up
VL 28 spline 3.45 lsd disc to disc
MX7 box, flywheel,clutch (needs replacing),starter motor, and tailshaft
main electric window switch arrived

today put a deposit on full genuine A8 turbo motor and all bolt ons

got rear end sorted out with paint


have to wait a few days to put calais strips on and new badge then will be complete.

hey sean, just bought a vl myself, something to play with, going to start playing soon, looking forward to reading about all the mods i could carry out on her as im new commodores, any advice?

hey, yeah there is plenty of things you can do. if your just wanting to keep it NA (naturally aspirated) then a lot of people do extractors and 2 1/4'' cat back exhaust. CAI (cold air intake). and converting it to 5 speed is always a good thing. or if you wanna have some real fun turbo conversion. CT (calais turbo) is a great site with lots of info if your after things to do, i suggest joining up there to.
