My Red VL Turbo.

Hey all,

OK well some if not most of you all know i have an Atlas Grey VN only a V6........ lets all face it....... It was a Heap of **** that i thrashed.

I recently advertised the Car on ebay for 2k, Someone even bidded on it i was like :O WTF lol, anyway a few days after putting it up i get this msg from a guy asking would i like to swap my VN for his car...................... wait for it................................. his car being a Red VL Turbo, Imac VL at that......

So i took on his offer and went to hius join thinkin this guy is on drugs there is no what in hell he will swap for mine.......... Believe it or not he swapped. yep thats right a straight swap.

Here im think for sure this VL is gunna be ****ed and been thrashed to the max. let me tell you all about this Car

Model: 1988 Holden VL
Colour: Red
GearBox: 3 Speed Auto, but Came with a complete 5 Speed Manual Converstion.
Motor: RB30DET, 3 Litre Turbo, Fully rebuilt by Bresciani Racing from top to bottom, Forged Pistons, Cam, Valves, T3/T4 Turbo, AVO Stage 1 Intercooler... you name it its been done :P (Yes it came with all the recipts)
K's: 181,***
Wheels: Looking for a Nice set of HSV Wheels.
Interior: Stock Interior that is in Micky Mouse Cond.
Exhaust: 3" Dump pipe, 3" hi Flow Cat, 3" from the cat back.

Future Mods: Put manual in, Front Monut Intercooler, And what eva else i think of down the line :P

Im guessing you guys are like NO FKLN WAY......... but its true guys lol

i take it its been resprayed red unless in the pics the bay looks differnt

is it a A& block

i reckon till you score a new set of wheels get some chrome dress rings and centre caps

and some new headlights

would look mint

Anyway knocked off work at 11 O'Clock today...... so i droped passed my m8's work, (Mechanic) chucked the car up on the Hoist to see how the car look under it.... AND its FKN Clean for an 88 VL, I did find some things that are yelling out "CHANGE ME" quick Smart. like Brakes still has drum brakes on the back, change the diff and spool it the cooler had a hole in it, fixed that whist it was there.

But as for rubbers and stuff even though there old non of them are cracked/split or damaged to the point where they need to be changed, but im gunna put Pedders right thought the car.

On the Weekend i also got bored so i decided to put my head unit in.......... Now just have to get some half decent speakers.....

Now for the Head uint being change to the New one.......

Thanx m8...... Next mod will be the brakes...... its still running the Drum brakes on the back end and the stock non vl turbo brakes on the front.........

Soon it will have VT Upgrades on the front and just Stock VN disc's on the back..... and the Brake booster replaced with a 1" brake booster from a VN....

nice score there, very good condition for its age, I notice you listed it as an RB30DET but its a single cam isn't it? also you may want to pull off your mild steel intake and check if its rusting on the inside, wouldn't want that going through your motor. but all in all great swap lucky bas**rd

nar its not stolen........ as its already into my name...... yer it is a single cam...... yer i relised i made a mistake its meant to be RB30ET Fixed now

Anyway An Update....

Well Iv got my self a 90Ltr Drop Tank thanx to my Misses, got it from her from her VN :P It was silver untill i got 1200 grit sand paper in my hands, and now it's going to be Polished with black Straps

yer its Massive compared to the VL Tank.... and yer when iv got the $$$ ill be getting a better intercooler and the piping along with a GT35/40 Turbo...... But when i do all that ill be Stripping the engine bay so i can hide or tidy up the wiring and then paint it so its the same colour as the car....

Should look mint when shes all done.....

Hey guys, Yesterday i did a little bit to the car..... brought some deadner for the boot to hide the surface rust comming up and just to stop some of the sound..... under the car will be done also but ill do that when i put all new rubbers under her........

Here's some pics..... after doing it the car didnt smell to good, got to work and i recon i wasnt far from being high of the fumes.......... lol

Hey all....

UPDATE Yay!!!

Well today i got the gearbox out and the torque converter, what fun that was........ anyway once getting the Gearbox out from under the car i was looking at the Torque Convertor only to see that thats ****ed too....... (Makes me just want to put a manual in)

So not am i up for the auto im also up for a Friggin Torque Converter.....Arrrrr Cars but i still love em.
