VL Berlina Factory V8

Hey all me and the missus have just got our selves a V8 Berlina...which is a factory V8...

It had a blown motor but the guy has put a 253 in it...

i will post all the details and pics up when we pick the car up on thursday hopefully..

Well hello all again...The guy just droped it off...we swapped a 1988 holden astra 1.8L E.F.I with a 5 speed running rough for this clean v8 berlina factory v8!!!

and keep it the 253 atm as its just been rebuilt and goes well...Not sure what we going to do to this one...Maybe a respray and wheels gotta take stereo out of walky and put in this as the missus wants it in this so setup all again

yeah go electric windows! in the calais, windows only work one side haha. FAIL needa clean the switch connections i rekn. or get a new switch board.
ive got 2 vls well one and a half. haha.
ohhh god, the vz power windows are magical. i dnt have to wait 30 seconds for them to go up and down :O haha.

the calais i gave to my bf because i didnt have the heart to sell it.
always had a soft spot for vls and then when i had money, it just popped up and it was my first car (apart from the hunk vl exec paddock drifter LOL.)
anywho, got big plans for it and were gonna re-spray it soon. when the bf gets a work ute, we will un-reg it and tuff it up always wanted a wicked show car towed by a wicked daily haha.
i figured, i bought it for $2,000 2 years ago, its no loss in money just keeping it. couldnt make much off it i dnt rekn. plus its my baby
ohh and the other car is the vl exec. it died after numerous thrashings, and became a parts donor. but didnt realise it was easily fixed until cut though radiator hoses and F'ed shit up. haha. ohhhh well. the engine is aiight. tempted to sent it away and get it slowly worked on as i can afford it and when the calais is ready, transplant

well hey all bit of an update......


took it to my mechanic yesterday who does my roadworthys...put it on the hoist to see what it needed for a roady

List of things need doing 4 Roadworthy:

= Tailshaft centre Bearing DONE
= Sway bar link bushes DONE
= Front Brake Pads DONE
= Wiper Blades DONE
= Pre-heat Pipe
= Adjust HandBrake DONE

Well then today......What a day!!!!

Had to adjust timing, got new cap as it was stuffed!
Drove it half way out of the drive way.......AND THEN.......GUESS WHAT???????

BLOODY sprung a huge transmission leak

So put it back on the hoist started it up...the tinyest hole and i was spraying like a sprinkle turned on flat out with shitloads of pressure

well now thats fixed.....

Got some tyres cheap and just have to put them on rims...$50 across the road at wheels
Tune the carby
Put a Pre-Heat pipe on

AND take it back down for a roadworthy and she will be on the road

well its back home now roady in a couple of weeks hopefully


need new plugs and leads so i can tune the carby properly and should be all sweet

had a fiddle with her, and found that the retard who owned it had stuffed the rotor button as i could turn it round on the shaft the locator for it is stuffed so of to get a new roto button give it a good timing again and should be sweet

Update.

Have found a new engine to go into the old girl. black 253. the engine thats in it atm is running on 7 1/2 cylinders and the cam is stuffed.

have priced getting the paint job done. goin to be paint a black and silver two tone with a violet pearl thru the black.
