yeah man i ran mine for 12 months on 6psi with N/A inj and Ecu they max out at 7psi....
if u get the turbo inj source the ecu as well to run them i have heard mixed replys about N/A ecu running turbo inj at higher psi but im not sure(don't like the sound of it though pulse rates are slightly different).. like i said do it right or u got a melted piston from a lean out
check it

yeah i wouldnt take the risk of increasing boost until i have the right gear.
do any modifications need to be made to the ecu when doing the conversion?
thats retty cheap for the fuel rail isnt it? how much are turbo injectors by themselves? assuming the fuel rail is the same..or different?
same rail man... i got mine for $200 and the ecu i got for $150 on ebay... i have seen them go for more or less... ECU stays the same man no mods.. either NA ecu and injectors on 6psi or get Turbo ECU and Injectors and run higher...
Car is being moved into its workshop tomorrow morning where i can begin the long process of fulfilling the image i have in my mind right now.
If only i was some photoshop wizard I could explain
I'll get some piccies tomorrow of its new home
What's the image! give me something to imagine!

well its a little bit different to most vl's going round but its the way i like it.
Alpine white over asteroid silver freshly painted, sitting on highly poilshed whitewalled calais alloys, colour coded sunvisor, polished chrome strips all round, lowered just a touch (probably sl's), venetians in the rear and sides, chrome tow ball, turboed with a hidden black intercooler sitting behind a little chrome nudge bar (if i can ever source one) and me sitting in the drivers seat to top it all off.
There is alot of little touches i want on the inside too, but thats the image.
Imagine away!
and a couple of pictures of it in the shed where i get to work on it.
The blue convertible is my cousins 68 MGB. Awesome car to drive in, i drove it back from Wollongong with his, so much fun!

yeah do a stealth cooler.... i can powder coat it black for u.. unless u wanna spray paint it.. i have done a few coolers..
i got a small cooler here which came with my piping but i put in a 600 instead u may b of interest
yeah mate for sure. i wasnt going to run a cooler at all, but a small one hidden would be good. powder coated would be awesome.
I will begin removing the gearbox and engine on thursday, super keen to start on it all.
My mate is droping around tomorrow in his new imported 82 RX7 with a 13B rotary. Cant wait to see itHolidays coming soon too, so im preparing the workshed for it all
Well spent a few hours removing everything. Here is where it is at at the moment..
I like to take pictures.
Radiator out...Yes that is a fossilised dragon fly in there

whats with the green stally man?? is it of any goods>?
I dunno haha. What colour is a usual torque converter? I just bought it from the wreckers inside the box. Any easy way to check whether it is a stally or not ?

went for a trip out to the wreckers today
Got some new injector plugs with the little metal clips intact
and some of these:
King Spring Lows. Just what I was after, don't want to go too low and want to keep it legal. Just need to get the front now
Also made a bit more progress on getting the engine out.
Tailshaft out and riping more stuff out of the bay.
nice work man... usually the stally is silver to
well havent updated in a while but have made some progress
Took the front bumpers off cos they were broken and cracked all over and found out that a few pieces of wire was all that was holding the front left piece on as the plastic had broken away
Also installed a new indicator arm. Was a hassle simply due to the steering wheel not wanting to come off easily
And managed to get the engine and box out. Never thought I would manage it by myself but was easier than I thought.
Also. If you remember a while back I had issues with the car running on 5 cyinders and they found low compression in 3/4 cylinders. This is the exhaust gasket and it clearly shows the 6th exhaust outlet has alot more carbn build up. Could this be a cause for low compression in the cylinder perhaps?

Got these today.
One has shaft play the other is nice and tight.

good work man looking the goods,,,, where is the box why didnt that come out with the donk in one piece...
where u get the 2 t3's from...?
as for the soot on the exhaust gasket, clearly it was sealed bad or without gasket goo or the exhaust studs were snapped for some time therefor not clamping the manifold on hard enough...

Thanks nath. Got the turbos from a guy on boostcruising along with the manifold, oil lines and dump pipe.
Gearbox came off halfway out, due to height restrictions I couldn't get the engine any higher at that angle.
Not sure how bad the condition is of the spare turbo.. Might look into just buying a rebuild kit for it or something.
I need to find some more info on how I can run the oil lines to the cold side cause I don't want to/know how to, drill and tap in the fitting on the hot side of the block.

They are not vl t3's. Most likely t25 or t28s from a skyline
This is a vl t3

Yep that's right. Already new it luckily.
I'll be trialing the slightly smaller turbos because I only planned on running low boost.
I will upgrade in the future

that stally you were talking about is a dominator... usually different brands of stalls have their own distinct colour, my dominator stall is also that colour green
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Ah thanks mate. I was getting curious. Does yours have any markings on the outside of it ? I can't see anything that suggests what it is
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
no they don't, usually they might have what size and for what vehicle written in white marker on them, but not always
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Cheers. I'll just have to test it out myself haha

Well been getting stuff done slowly.
Since last update i have:
Done head studs to correct torque
Begun to replace connectors on the loom with new ones
Started grinding down the top intake manifold so that I can polish it along with fuel rail
Fixed bare wires coming out of new gearbox
Hopefully ill get the engine back in soon. Cause i miss driving it so much haha.
