My first car, sad to see her go :(

Hey all,

Here is my first car, spent so much time and money on it. I didnt want to do what most guys do when they get a vl, they just bolt on a turbo and the blows up after 2 months!

I had changed almost every thing on this car, spent over 2 grand just reconditioning it to all new parts either original or after market. Then one day it started stalling on me, i got it home and left it in the garage. I drove it to the mechanic to get the injectors changed to turbo before my conversion and one of the stock hoses ripped and my bay caught on fire!!!

Watching the paint bubble away and anything that was plastic melt off was heart breaking. So i upgraded to an SV6 LOL

hmmmmm as u stated.... blows up after 2 month of a turbo...
mate if done properly and not smashing boost levels on a stocko donk.. she will last, and survive punishment....(mine been going over 4 months ATM with no hastles......well only a welch plug)

what numbers u pull on the dyno?

well, the numbers it pulled were pretty embarresing considering it was still stock, it think it was like 90 something at the wheels LOL...

However keep in mind at that stage it as running really rich and needed a tune. For some reason after i changed my computer and CAS + AFM it threw the whole thing out of whack! never got to do what i had planned... I did my best to keep it clean =)

That sounds normal to me 90rwkw to 110rwkw for stock rb30s and v6s

the guy i had bought it off had put the extractors on, a huge exhaust, huge tip, tuned it so that it was idling at like 1.5k rpm... i was getting 90-100 k;s out of a full tank!!!!! i had to do so much to it, but to be honest, i did a lot myself and i know an RB30 inside out!!! (i have proven very useful to a lot of my mates) lol

i was getting close to 500km's out of good fuel with normal driving (half freeway half suburban)
