hi thought i would put a pic of my mistreated vl that i took pity on and bought to save it from anymore abuse this is what it looked like when i bought it it's looking happier now though
the previous owner had a rebuilt rb30 put in it and he also put a rebuilt auto trans in it but got the shits and put it up for sale cause he couldn't get the transmission to work (he didn't bolt it to the motor or put transmission fluid in it)
you bought this? looks like he shouldve paid you to take it lol. full restore??
yes paid $100 for it basically only bought the new battery thats in it he spent some money though on it receipts total $1000 spent so it's kind of a bargain it's a diamond in the rough do's have good bones though and i put better looking wheels on it to
least its got a tacho haha. whats the inside like apart from messy?
lots of pop rivets and gaffa tape holding things together velour seats in average condition its a berlina model oh best thing was there was $70 in change under the back seat but about $30 was monopoly moneyso it actually worked out quite well. the other thing i was told it's supposed to have a turbo motor in it how can i find out what it had in it originally

Farrrk man, she was a rough'n. Good to see you're going to fix her up a bit
Wheels look like Nascar rimsWith the sticky stuff on the door skins, you can use either prepsol and a rag, will take a while, even try scratch most of it off with your finger nail, or if you're going to prime over it, scrape it off with a razor blade, lol then sand it smooth - prime
Looking better already but, keep it up!
Poor old girlHow could you let your car get to such a shitty state. I wouldnt want to be caught seen in that car. Or even looking at it lol. Looking soo much better mate. Keep the pics and updates coming! How many kays does it have?
That's an L in need of attention.
Now looking the goods man even with just the primer ill be watching this thread.
Goodluck with her
Motor looks clean which is a Bonus
thank #### you have the decency to rescue this commodore, as always it has potential.
i love the rim's and lettered tyres mate.
keep up the work.

Man that was tragic great to see you had the decency to rescue a great car abused that much..... any more updates man? pretty keen to see this one progress.
this one sadly has gone to vl heaven the more i stripped the worse it got sent it to the soda blasters and it basically came back worse the roof was rusted at the pillars and pop riveted on and bogged over chassis had been chopped and welded then had the body deadener put over it and well back end of it disappeared wasn't much metal left once it had been stripped naked
R.I.P. vlall its good bits are being transferred to the new one i got for free
nice man, ,hows the new one coming?
Sucks to hear but it looks like you got a great engine for $100 :P Keep us posted on the new project!

good pickup for $100 but it would have turned out ####ed even if the body was good because you literally primed over everything! restoration is definately not cheap. but awesome effort. not many people would take on a beaten up car like that as a project. I have a wagon that was the equivalent to this overall except it had stuffed interior, motor, gearbox, all suspension components, paint, panels, bumpers. just about everything man
