I've just had the above car delivered over the christmas weekend 2009 and plan to turn it into a walkinshaw replica.
to date I have:
removed pin stripes
removed badges
removed side mouldings
removed front and rear bumper
removed headlights (one of them needs a new mirror)
purchased all the outside decals
Purchase some vr clubsport seats
Purchase some VS clubsport wheels
Purchased a SAAS boss kit to attach to an old autotechnica steering wheel I have.
I intend to:
get hold of the plush grey carpet
paint the dash grey (cheaper than finding a replacement)
find and install a console with a lid (done, just needs painting)
swap the engine and auto with an EFI 5L and a manual box
replace the suspension with something better
get some vt brakes
repaint it panorama silver (in progress)
Find a head unit which works really well with my htc desire mobile phone or simply run the phone straight to the amp.
Costs to date:
Car $0.00 it was given to me
Body Kit $1500.00
calais front $ 150.00
VR clubsport seats. front and back $ 265.00
decals $ 65.00
vs clubsport wheels $ 400.00
boss kit $69.00
paint, thinners, primer, clear etc... $800
compressor, hoses and spray gun $200
total @ 23-july-2011 = $3449.00

bidding on a roller engine and a 5 speed now. if all goes to plan it'll be at my place soon. knowing my luck it'll slip away...
anyway, louver and passenger side have some more base coat now. the upper part of the rear bar is also silver but not in these pics. i'm only getting an hour here and there but its really starting to look alright. every time i see it i feel motivated to get more done.

I'm going to paint the whole thing myself at home. I dont have enough in the budget to get a pro to go over it, and besides, its my hobby and I'm enjoying workig on it.
Looks like this engine may escape me. it was from a wreck and came with almost all accessories. anything missing I would have to scout around for.
Looks like a lot of time and hard work has gone into this.
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. keep us posted.
My drive way will have its own challenges. I'm thinking I will need to reverse into it every day, on an angle...
I have one of these coming. this will look after all the bluetooth streaming and If i just dump a heap of music on a 32gb usb key then i wont need cds ever again.
DSX-S300BTX : Digital Media Players : Car & Marine Entertainment : Sony Australia
There are also some gas struts coming soon and a 5 spd getrag bog from a vs III ute.
just need the 5L to push it now

no struts for the boot yet.
the box with all parts required for the conversion was $1,100
New carpet has gone in. vl series 2 rails are holding the seats down. I have grey door pinch welds and some grey vinyl door trims. These will get updated at later date. The clear cost has also started going on.
updates?
did you paint it in 2k?
what sort of compressor and gun did you purchase?
got any more pics of it out in the sun?
I've still got to get the clear coat on. its all acrylic since I'm on a budget and want to do it myself.
I bought a $200 compressor from supercheap which came with a hose and 3 gravity fed guns.
I've still got an electrical fault to sort yet before I can drive it out of the garrage.
i'm going to try a new crank angle sensor as its not pulseing at the injectors.
I have some walky door trims on the way.
The vr clubby front seats are now in, so is half of the rear.
The new carpet is down and the dash is painted.
The set were only $200,
They have window wonder holes which suits me as i don't have power windows and wouldn't date punch holes in a sat myself.
The whether strips need replacing and i haves good set ready to go on.
They also have 6"speaker holes. I have a set of grey door pockets i could get spare carpet from I'll put some speaker grills over the holes.
They will do until i have more cash for power windows and a good set
CAS is not responsible for pulse at injectors. CAS is responsible for Spark as its electric Ignition
ta,
Ive just read a few of your posts helping others with similar symptoms.
lets see if i can get it sorted now.
