Plans for the future are to upgrade the brakes and drop in a v8.
Looks nice! I have always wanted one of these...
you got my interest with the supercharged rb30... when you're ready to sell motor/blower and box, let me know. Am about to begin a rb30 conversion into a vb and would be keen on supercharged instead of turbo and prefer manual to the auto i have in the donor car....
I had to do a double take when i seen it was supercharged.
Probably wont be ready to sell them for quite a while but when i am I'll give you a shout.
Will keep yous up to date on the developments.
I am also planning on raising it a little cause its way to low for the roads and drive ways in my area. I live in a rural town with lots of potholes etc
Soooo this has been sitting in my drive way for over two weeks now and I still haven't been able to drive it apart for bringing it home...
I got it home and decided to fix anything the police might not like in case I got pulled over... pretty likely as the local sergeant doesn't like me.
And do some minor fix ups so it is more pleasant inside.
Any ways decided to raise it cause it was too low... no dramas just chucked in some standard springs for now.
fixed broken indicator lens, fixed up the tail lights, replaced globes and cleaned earth's, sorted out the dash... it had nothing at all holding it down.
Changed brake pads, It had shitty silverline ones, so put in some bendix pads. changed gear knob from a skull with light up eyes to a standard 5 speed knob.
Put rubbers on the pedals. Removed all the wiring that was left over from when it was on gas. Removed the monster tach (has inbuilt dash one so dunno why it was in there), hooked up the cd and dvd player so i had some tunes. And removed the harnesses so i could have back seat passengers. (God knows why i did that).
Well all this was fine and dandy and didn't worry me cause i knew it needed doing.
So it was finally ready to take for a hoon. so we put fuel in and load up. decide I'll let Dad drive as he's done most of the work and hadn't driven it yet.
We do a few blocks before he decides to open it up a bit and then the AFM shits its self. Got it home and did some investigating and found sh1t loads of dodgy wiring i.e bare wires, speaker wire used where it shouldn't be, bare earth and power wires touching each other... God knows how it even ran to begin with.
Also the ecu is standard but the injectors are larger due to the supercharger. So now we have to replace the ecu and AFM and go over all the wiring....
Ahh I hate when people who have know clue try to work on cars...
hopefully It'll be up and running in the next two weeks.
looks tuff.
seen it on gumtree for sale to
Yeah she sounds alright too, but it's way too loud to be legal.
Will take some new pics once i change the wheels over.
Cant wait to get it out of the drive way again. It's only been out once since I got it home.
It's killing me seeing it just sit there lol.
Took some pics this afternoon but on my phone and the car is in need of a good wash so will be taking some more tomorrow.
car looks sick man
thanks mate
ok when r the interior and engine bay pics coming,..?
nice car man its a GEM
I'll take some engine bay shots tomorrow... nothing amazing in there tho, not yet anyways.
Intrior pics will have to wait till we have some nice weather as it needs a good scrub. white and greasy hands don't go well.
im interested in seeing the charger setup, ive only ever seen one charged rb30 before back when i was about 16
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
yeah no worries mate.
Its only one of the small toyota ones but it works ok.
There's a slight lag in throttle response tho cause the air has such a long distance to travel.
all good just like turbo lag.. u know it coming.. then goes BARRRPPPPPPPP Tutututut
pretty sure those toyota blowers only run around 3psi dont they?
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Yeah thats how i describe it to most people.
Na their good for around 9 any more then that and they don't last long apparently.
The biggest engine they recommend them for are 3 litres tho.
Mines putting out 6 psi.
Will be putting up some pics tonight when i get back to the world of fast internet and unlimited downloads lol
Been away from the car for a week now, keen to get back and give it some attention.
Na been driving it as much as i can
drives like a dream, i love it.
