i had kenwood splits in the calais and blew one of them easily. i dont like the stereo up too loud either, and then i bought mtx's and they have been fine ever since. had to file a bit from under the speaker cover and remove the plastic boot to get them to fit though.
also i usually leave the alt drive belt on and make sure it's tight when i crack off the main bolt for the crank and grab the belt to help stop the crank turning.
you should advance the cam one tooth when you replace the timing belt but then retard the dizzy all the way and it should be still 1degree advanced ign timing. thats how mine was anyway
