Maybe invest in a turbo, berlina, calais dash??? Built in monster tacho, oil pressure and volt gauge... IMO aftermarket gauges make the car look ricey (especially monster tachos) unless there done properly like this


Or in that square panel between the steering wheel and cd player (thats where im going to put my boost gauge as its the only gauge im running).

Yeah i got something like that but black..im thinking of replacing some of the cluster gauges with aftermarket... ive got another cluster, so i can always replace it..

where u have that gauge next to the HD i actully used that for a control panel hehe.

Update**

Added some parts to my list..
- GPS
- Sandwich Plate - lets me have oil pressure and oil tempreture gauges at the sametime..
- Blow Off Valve
- Parking Sensors
- Fuel Pressure, Volt , Water , Boost Gauge.
- Duel Subwoofer
- 2 Amps.
- Bonnet Scoop
- Crossover Pipe ** i might be getting an intercooler straight up, so this part might be for sale in the time ahead, i brought it for 50 bucks so thats what the price will be without postage, ill only ask for what it cost to send to be added in the price **

Started working on both vl boots today, dam the red one has some rust in there.. Oh welll.. Ill post pics tonight..

So the rust wasnt so bad as i thought 90% is just surface, 10% im cutting out which is outlined.. ill post the finshed pic in a few days..

Well i didnt get to the boot again today, had to replace the valve/rocker gasket as it was leaking as shown in the picutre below, i must say i was worth it, the old one had a split which reduce compression, now i get mad compression, so much more power then ive ever experinced with the car so far..i put my foot down abit and zoooooom!!!

Removed the backseat too, replacing it with another seat as the frames a rusted to the **** house.. just a bit of surface rust on one side, not much..easy fix


I can't wait to replace the extractors with a shiny new manifold.


Taken out the front seats next..i wanan replace them with another..havent decided yet.., followed by the carpet to clean it.... not looking forward to the front seats lol, wd-40 better help abit lol.

Drop'd the fuel tank today, broke an interior piece... dam glue lol

Started removing rust from the rear half of the car, hopefully i get to the front half and the roof by the weekend ..

Installing new seats by next weekend with luck ...

Getting New Rear & Front Lights too by next, only they wont be installed until shes painted..

End of the month or next im hoping to have the turbo in, ive skip'd the crossover pipe and im now going with intercooler!

I got till august to have this project finshed..

I've added another 6 months to a year to my number one project ... got mad work stuff coming up for who knows how long... plus some other important family issues i gotta takecare of like most people... AND i so need a new daily driver to take me places, lucky my wife has a car hehe..

Overall im working on the engine and gearbox, diff brakes etc out of the car, whileworkin on the body.. when its all done ill slap the suckers togethere

Ive done some body work n abit of custom stuff for the interior, ill get pics of that stuff when i can

holding off on getting my engine at the end of this month, i had a look at it today and it was crap house, leaks all around and he wanted 2g's the owner can go suck my bottle top lol..

Other then that did some more work today, sexy spolier & bonnet scoop which will bring on the haters.. ill post pics soon..

Just need to get my manifold and dumpipe and the 2 oil lines, intercooler then the fun begins..

After that im sourcing out a nice rb25 thats worth 2g's.

Im considering to paint with the rollers, but my bro's talking me to using the spray gun once again..

New tailights soon
Different front and rear seats, im waiting for a bargin!
High rise center console
Clean the carpet and change the colour using dye..
Dunno if ill change the steering wheel just yet..
Respray the mags
Oh & finsh the boot! + battery to boot

Removed alot of exterior pieces tonight, bumpers, moulds, lights etc..

Almost ready for paint, im repsraying it red again saves mucking around with transport for modifications as shes already rwc and rego..

Start the interior tommorow, removing out the front seats etc..

Still waiting on ruddies cheque so i can finsh off my turbo setup lol !!

Brought my manual/repair book yesterday, advancing heaps on the project, deadline is august the 12 2009, its a date i just decided on! almost 6 months, doing it in half the time of the vc and doing 10x more to it..id say just about a complete rebuild!! as im a fan! of vl berlina 5speeds project!!!

I'll have a pics in a few weeks, maybe some small update pics in a few days.. attempting to get the fenders and front end off tommrow with a box of tissues when i see what rust she has to hide lol!!

I'll fix my project page up when its finshed, atm im going with the flow, day by day.. new ideas one after the other!

ps. the xbox is going in for sure, my bestmate that ive known since i was 4years old.. hates driving around in cars but he loves playing video games.. now he wont complain hahaha..

yeah its getting there..front end is off same for the front lights.... changed plugs to ngk tonight and added topgun leads over instead of bosch.. all turbo ready too... doing a tune up in the morning or later on in the day.... removing the aircon full setup "aircon itself is off already" as i dont need it and never used it, gives me more space to play with for my intercooler and turbo setup.. fenders off....

getting windscrens obiren to take the window out this week to kill some window rust, i had an attempt and had to stop, i thought it was going to break lol... then getting the carpet cleaned & dyed once i pick up the newer set of front and rear seats.. adding lights for front and rear in a few weeks.. then paint and hopefully sometime between this ill have the turbo in and sht load of new wiring done followed by diff brakes etc.. im keeping the auto box now..

Almost there!!! 3 and half months to go.. i love my scoop and spolier makes my sht stand out in a crowd..

Changed the spark plugs to ngk a few nights ago outside with only 2 lights lol dam garage is full!!!! also added topgun leads ready for the turbo..nothing like doing the job right...


I skipped windscreens obrien today after the told me there was no policy on them breaking my window after 2 other ppl told me there was.. so i saved myself 200 bucks and thought if its gonna break ill have another go at it!! took 10 mins with a flat head.. pushed the rubber from the left hand side in then the right followed by the top and pop !!! it came out in one piece..of coarse i got a tip from my fav project around here im very happy with myself and ive decided to never ring them again..



doing the fenders tommorow night and hopefully i can get these nasty front seats out.. then fixing the boot floor finally!

needs a new radiator now and a new thermo just to be safe.....i thought she was overheating casue of her age..turns out i found a few small holes in the radiator after pulling the aircon off...im glad im doing this to my beast or id probley never know why she was really overheating.. even rwc missed it ...

Got a fenders off lastnight, looking pretty good under it, only a little bit of surface rust.. overall just plain old dirty!!! I could of got more done with the seats etc but im drinking of the jims took over lol...ahh was my night off and worth it !!



inner guard came off this side, only 1 screw holding it lol!!!

Also got the front end off a few days ago..


New shocks, springs and struts at th end of the month.

Hell yeah bro, i love working on my car, nothing more satisfying then doing the work youself its always greatto get a few tips too save heaps of dollars also

***update**
Can't do much today, just got home home from work and its raining so only bumper work for me, parking sensor etc and a good clean up of the big metal bracket that holds the front bumper + paint to go with it!!

Hopefully later tonight if its stopped for good, i'll get chance to drain the rad +take it off for now... and remove the aircon.
