yeah it all comes down to cut and trial, i love metal tho, if something f**ks up its not a great deal of time or cash to fix it.
my mate in Melbourne just recently put his in only took him a few days.

week max hopefully, a day to take bonnet gaurds window etc etc out and start measuring, then a few more days to actually fit it get a new window and put everything back together, just going to paint it in primary till i get the cash for full body respray.
shoulda got it galvanised so you never have to fix the bastrd again.

well well well 2 years later and the cowl panel is out lol, woke up late today pulled the dash out bonnet of and front wheels, managed to get most of hte cowl panel out and clean most of it preping for welding, i did find out that the window has been out before becuase there was a few rust holes boged up
tommorows job will be take the gourds and shocks out

its actually a easy fix, cut the old cowl panel out and weld a brand new one in lol
alright alright heres 2 weeks progress, have random pics from the build so far, oh and yes the cowl panel is 100% in and done

it includes
tie rod ends x2 (gease nipples)
ball joint x2 (grease nipples)
front hub baring kit
shocks x2
power steering boot x2
shocks that came out of it, no bounce back at ALL lol
striped
be3hind firewall striped and primed
cowl panel welded in
paint was flaking in the wheel archs so striped it back and sound deader it all
weld, no bog in this pic
and what i did today, boged up smoothed and primed
also ordered a full nolathnae bush kit for $360 BARGAIN, now gotta drive in semi primer for a few months till i get teh cash together for a resrapy
just got a phone call from autobarn, my full nolathane bush kit should arrive tommorow, so once i pick that up the car can start going back together
also new window and rubbers come on friday
OH also picked up these brand new rims and tyres of ebay and tried them out on the rear, defently nee to roll the rear gaurds to be safe but i think thay look nice and nothing over the top

What size are the tyres? if they are 245 they will scrub but 235 should be fine. Ive got 245 on 18s and they scrub like shit.

there 225 so shouldnt have a problem, will have to roll the rear gaurds still as it is very very close lol
its something like 220 from rear spares, and if you know someone thats a pretty good welder not the hardest thing tp put in, the worst is that EVERYTHING is flammable on the vl, lol the paint and most of the sound deader shit is what i found out is flammable lols
i workshop would quote 2 gs plus for this type of panel work (what i got quoted from one dodgy joint.

still gotta lip the rear guards dude, cant fit a finger between the tyre and gaurd on each side, the tyre are the same width and height and offset as the 17s i have and thay rubed like hell, with no one in the car lols
but no big deal
she finally back on the road and cruising, been out all last night and most of today just enjoying it.
