must say the rims suit in the chop quite well and what can i say, im a fan of blue vls
why buy vk ones when i can paint these ones? new pair of vk lights without the centre garnish is gonna be $100+...i need that money for fuel

i was just going to use a black paint marker in the grooves. and this arvo, i masked off the entire grooved area and painted the rest of the assembly black.
heres a pic of how it is now

Nice VL dude. Its obviously a bit rough, but it'll come up alright in the end. And the calais skirts suit it nicely.

Oh, and go black ceptors with silver centrecaps and chrome nuts. I think that should look good?

had a hunt around allclassifieds yesterday, and found myself some decent rims
here they are, just gotta get some rubber on them, then i'll be cheering
    like my sexy work feet?

the rims are Starcorp racing Tracers, and they are nice and legal at 17 inches. im planning on putting 225s on the front, and 235s on the back.

also, some fool decided to crash his vr into a gutter sideways, and got it repaired at my work. the driver must have wanted it to look tubbed...did some fair decent work anyway, diff had to be replaced, so i've got dibbs on the old brakes hopefully they wernt damaged, and i should be able to bolt them up in place of the drummies.

got a couple of freebies today.
first up, are some 205/60/15 semi slicks. not much tread left, but enough for some fun at an upcoming track day

and the second freebie is some VS rear brakes. hopefully i can put these on my diff instead of the drummies

you mind telling me why you posted this in MY ride thread?

if any mod sees this, could they please remove this, and the previous quoted post from the thread.

its been a while since i posted on this thread. heres an update on the car:

    1. had a small accident involving the rear right quarter, not too serious. just didnt want to do up a damaged car so all the plans kinda went down the drain, just kept using it as a daily
    2. car randomly stopped after a bit of enthusiastic driving around a corner. called nrma coz i cbf tracking down the problem. nrma guy said i needed a new fuel pump. got the car towed home. had it all set up, on stands ready to drop the tank and change it, when i decided to check the pump fuse what a waste of time and money.
    3. was 'abusing' the car and blew the spider gears in the diff
    4. left it outside my work for 2 weeks, some c**t broke the passenger window, snapped the steering lock and rooted the barrrel. then somehow managed to back it out of the parking space, and drove it 20m down the road till they got to a corner where it stopped driving (spider gears still being f**ked) decided to abandon it, left it on in gear with the handbreak up. cop on patrol saw it, switched it off, took the coil lead and woke me up at 5am to tell me where it was, what had happened and that when he found it, it was making quite a noise.
    5. went down to the local cop shop to get my ignition lead back (like the cop asked me to) and got smirked at by the cop who went and got it for me.
    6. went to start it up, used to start effortlessly (turn the key and instantly its on) now takes 3-4 seconds
    7. now sitting on the front lawn waiting for me to be bothered to open up the diff and take a couple of pictures of the carnage.

i think that about sums it up.
