Default Cant Beleive I Brought A Vl lol

Hey guys, well im a pure commodore fan and owner but have always hated VL's and VP's, but after some time driving one and borrowing one it grew on me as a good car, but not a commodore (if you's understand) and I brought it, post pics soon, now i have it i need help, its an 87 vl executive, 5 speed, completly original, now apart from Intake, zorst, cam and Turbo, what are some small upgrade i can do to increase power and economy and make it run to its best etc, like best spark plugs for the RB30's, CAI or Pod, New throttle body, best injectors etc etc....

any help would be great, thanks guys
If you do things righ people wont know you have done anything at all...

    Default Yea me 2

I was the same way, never imagined i would own a VP, on rims especially.
But like you the car grew on me and now i love it.
Never liked the 'tool' image that comes with a modded holden, but i guess if the mods stay tasteful, why the hell not

I guess it couldve been worse, we couldve gone for the 4cyl + exhaust option

    do not do a cai.

cutting any holes in the engine bay is a no no.
a simple panel filter in the stock box will be better than a pod and more legal than a cai.

as for cheap economy / performance? get a new distributor / leads / plugs / afm / coil.
this will give it a bit more bang and in reality make it more reliable and economical as it will be running tuned.

oh and don't ebay chip it. its a waste of money doesn't do anything.

Never knew a CAI would be illegal, most cars have it. You don't have to cut holes anywhere except the air box which then gets filled in with the CAI if you know what i mean.
