Default front strut all bouncy all of a sudden

hey guys, i've got super lows in my vp with monroe gt gas front shocks. all of a sudden i noticed the front left of the car was all bouncy when i was going over a speed hump at work. jumped out and bounced the drivers side...all good...bounce the passengers side and it bounces like bouncy ball! could anyone point me in the right direction? could my strut tops be cactus?

Sounds like you could have busted a shock. If the strut tops are gone, you'll be able to tell by looking at them.

What happens is the nut comes loose allow the strut free movement in the shaft, a big enough bumb will crack the housing and the pressure seal will break.

If the shock is bouncy, well i should say if the suspension is bouncy, the shock is compressing into the housing and then not returning at a rate that matches the spring.. hence the bounce... its literally bouncing on your spring until the inertia is gone and it settles again.

Use lock tight (stud lock) on it and tighten with a large Stilton wrench... you'll most likely need a new shock too.

    aZk.

i might just get some struts from the wreckers, wack some new shocks in, new springs, new strut tops and be done with it all...i know ill be spending money but i know everything will be good once ive done it.
