    Default fixing cam gasket?

    just wondering approximately how much it would cost to fix a cam gasket, because its leaking oil in a vp ss?

    sorry mate, im not sure it was just word of mouth
    but some other guy said they you will have to take all the motor off, and replace the cam gasket and probably replace the belt as well coz that may be ****ed. or something along them lines, sorry i cant be more informative
    do you know whether it will be an expensive fix?

    not sure if i could coz its a mates and jus wanna know an approxamte price for fixing, but there seems to be some oil on the bottom pulley, ive forgotten what its called lol
    and the belt slips a little when the engine is revved, but after a while it goes away

    is it v6 or v8?
    v6's have problems with leaky sump and tappet cover gaskets mainly.
    Crank shaft seal is also possible.

    pretty sure by the sounds of it, it would be a front crank seal
    its a vp ss, so its a v8

    clean the engine then look for the leak after a drive. then you know what to fix.
    timing cover would no be to mauch hassel unlike the v6 engines.

    If the timing covers have to come off then it could get a little expensive. If thats the case have a look at how much extra it will be to whack in a bigger cam while your there
