I bought my VP Commodore 7 months ago, It had had a "complete service"
so i didn't think to check up on it, i replaced the oil and it blew smoke, turns out it hadn't had an oil change in about 4 years, replaced the engine, now i've just found out that they hadn't replaced the gear oil with gear oil, they replaces it with tranny fluid, just wondering what kind of damage this does to a gearbox, if anythis is the 3rd time i've flushed it in a week and there's still some in there.
im guessing this is a manual box you are talking about? if so it is fine to run auto fluid in the manual box.
i personally use auto fluid and a tube of lubrizol in my manual box and wouldnt go to anything else.
