Question How to replace front strut top on a 93 VP S2 (easy way?)

Hi guys love the site, but need some help in replacing a torn front strut top on my dads 93 VP s2. The garage wants $200 for one side, I have seen a couple of posts but they were dealing with the complete strut removal etc which looks like a big job?

I was thinking if I remove the three nuts holding the strut and use spring compressors on the spring I could simply take off the top nut and swap out the strut top, which leads me to another question on price for the std factory rubber one?

Anyway if anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be great! Pictures would be cool

    The heaps!
