    Question Heating?

my heating broke a year or so ago and i need one of these:

    heater tap

however when i buy one, the heater will still be shit as always, since the fans in VNs are poor.

i would like suggestions for a bolt-on upgrade (or limited modifications) for the climate control fan, so that the heater can actually heat up my wagon on a cold morning.

    any ideas people?

The level of heat should be fine, if it is taking too long to reach the required level of heat coming out of the vents, perhaps check the thermostat as the car may not be warming up as fast as it should.

My fan blows sufficient air on the maximum setting, so im not sure if perhaps you have an issue there as well.

So is it the amount of air being blown out, or the temperature of the air being blown out?

Are the heater pipes getting hot - by the drives side center console under the dash. If I have my VN set to hot after a while my leg gets warm if I lean it against the console. So it could be a few things.

I'd say your old heater tap may have been jammed shut or not opening enough.
    Your core may be blocked.
The thermostate may be open all the time letting the coolant flow to fast and not heating up (you would have poor economy with this)

    the amount of air.

the fan is weak as, always has been. maybe i just have a dodgy fan.

the heating system should work fine after i replace that part.

well if the fan don't produce enough air flow to relay feel the air gushing out of the vents id say that the fan is defiantly bugged not the easiest to replace either (lots of Holdens magic screws "hidden" )

Also 1 thing to consider is that the vents are not opening all the way - ie vac leak maybe.

when you have the fan on 4 (flat out) it should make a real racket.
