Hi
My cousin has a '93 commodore that looks to me like a VR because of the body shape (same as my my VS). Yet they have a problem with getting parts and she reckons she has been told by a holden dealer thats it's a VP. She also reckons its got a 5sp Auto wich as far as I know didn't get released until '03 models. The chassis plate also states that it is a VP (I havn't looked at the plate).
My question to you is did the last of the VP's get a face, body and interior lift before the VR was released? I am assuming not but guess I could be wrong. And I also thought the VR chassis was different to the VP?
If it's got the same body as yours, it's a VR.
It doesn't have a 5sp, it has a 4sp with a locking torque converter.
The VR and VP had the same floorpan and same motor.
1) does it have an electronic gearbox? (with the "power" button)
2) do the strut tops look the same as the ones in your VS
That is all you need to find out, to know if it's a VR.
What month '93 is it?
