all these guys and their shift kits.... it amazes me why they actually do it, 99/100 the motors dont actually mod well enough to bother getting trans upgraded.

get yourself a T5 close ratio box with tall diff ratio (4.11 or 3.9) to even it out and a ssolid centre brass button one piece clutch plate with a lightweight flywheel. tighten up your tailshaft replace the centrebearing and your gonna eat sh*t over any "stage 2" shift kit out there v6 or v8......

is it just to have something cool to say about the car when it comes time to sell?
    never late in a 3 0 .. uhhh ... intercooled turbo

yes i drive an mx6 turbo ... its probably quicker than yours.

I had the stage 2 shift kit installed in my VN V6 and it would shift very hard. chirped 2nd gear every time and would spin 3rd in the wet.

my friend has a 3.4.5 lsd dif in his Vr V6 and it too shifts hard and accelerates much better than before.

Ring up BOSS Racing differentials, as they'll be able to beat that quote by miles (well, a few hundred anyway).

another $500 and you'd be able to buy a 9 inch.

They also do Shift Kits, so if you go to them for both, you'd get even more discount.

Still rekon Manual is the way to go though, alot more fun!

    Go manual!!!!

It will really bring the life into the old girl, without any engine mods!

BTW, good work on posting the prices!

    Wink Boss Racing Diffs

Stealthy Ya got the Number For Boss Diffs? Where they located @

I probably way up the options for spending the funds on the calais or saving for a manual VN SS... Thought these prices and info may help others decide.

I know manual is so much more fun than auto so probably think about it. 5 peed 5 litre awsome!!!!
    Cheers.

I like to call it a 5 Litre Fun speed

anyway, Boss have an ad in the trader everyweek, with their contact details. They are down south, in the Lonsdale industral area.

You can also try Precision Gearboxes, on Port Rd, i've never been there, but plenty of mates have, and no troubles.

i have a stage 2 shift kit and 2500 high stall in my vn as well as an lsd. im rather impressed with the performance and have really noticed it. however in a mild car it may not be as noticable, i have 400hp .
if u want to buy my box and LSD i'd be interested.
the reason i am sellin however is to upgrade to a turbo 400 auto converted to full manual, these are the best drag box and are only about $1100 to build then install so they are cheaper and better than the 4sp with a shift kit
