VN Calais boot remote stopped working

Hi Guys , First time here, I have a very smick V8 5 Speed, To day the boot remote ceased to function, the red light on the remote still works , as does the central locking.
I just looked at Max's Bible, not a mention of the remote system at all.
What a crock!!

Yes, and the next day the central locking failed, the doors all lock when you use the key, the alarm has to be turned on manually.

Where can I get the remote checked, (I only have one), Took it to the auto elect, he checked everything that he could, but I need a specialist to check the remote.
