VR/S Parcel shelf mystery

Who remembers that mystery about why some people had them fit and some were a couple inches short? what if we were to say........ Stato

I posted in the car audio about whether i could fit a VR/VS shelf to my VP. And yeah apparently there an inch short..What different about Statesman shelves appearance wise?

I have no idea but it's the only theory I have the stato much have a bigger parcel shelf. Because when I got my car it had a perfect fitting VR/S shelf in it and some other guys have had them too

Pretty sure they are the same. Test fitted one in a VN at the clayton wreckers ages ago. Although it was only sitting in the car, not installed. Now im wondering if it was actaully from the statesman, or just thrown in there from the VR next to it...
