Default stalling? dont know if its a major problem, or a easy fix.... 89' VN

hey guys, i have a 1989 VN exec, stock V6, HSV5000 chip (apparently)

and i notice when i give it a quick rev, when it goes back down to idle, it goes down to about 0.200rpm and then stalls. then it takes about 4 - 5 seconds of the motor turning over for it to start again, it goes fine, heaps of power, spins the wheels all the time (accidently), its just this one little problem thats got me stoked.. any ideas?

    cheers
    Mike

if you have a HSV5000 chip, i assume is for a 5ltr v8 and you have a v6 so that might be a problem?
But seriously i think it is your Idle air control valve. Disconnect the red wire where it goes into the bottom of the engine fuseable link, leave it off for a couple of minutes. Reconnect it, then rev the car to 3000rpm for 10seconds you will see the revs drop a tad. The IAC should be reset. Its a good idea to let the car warm up before disconnecting the fuseable link.
