Default Fitting 19" Rims on a VP

    Hey guys..
Being the VP has a skinny arse end in the wheel arches, it's hard to fit anything from 17" or more without modification. I've got 3mm spacers that I (can) use, but im not 100% happy with the idea. Been in talks with a few people about different ideas...

    • 3mm Spacers with longer wheel studs
    • VS IRS rear end conversion
    • 'bubble' the inner arch (get it bubbled in)
    • bash the shit out of the arch to accommodate

    Any further ideas?

19's should slip straight on without spacers, and they should tuck in the gaurd. I think even with lowered springs etc. should still fit good. Tyre size should be around 235/35/19 id say

buy wheels with the correct off set and 20's fit esay as man 28P offset is what you want nad your VY wheels are something like 40P or 45P. thats means there around a 15mm difference so buy 15mm spacers not 3mm mate. My wheel guy has engineered many VP's with 20's 100% legal in SA so it can be done.

in SA its only legal to go up 2 sizes in rims according to ur tyre placard. For example if the placard says 205/65/15 you can legally only go up to 17" rims. But LOTS of people dont care and get 18s 19s etc

lol can't you get those spacers that your existing studs bolt to and then they have their own studs actually pressed into the spacer, don't know how legal they are but I have seen them, but really if you want to keep your car tidy go for the VS IRS conversion, I think its only the hubs you need not the whole cradle and everything but I may be wrong. pictured below, Im not sure about your laws in Oz so can't really be sure if your allowed these. and obviously not 6 stud ones.

its either vr/vs hubs or those bolt on wheel spacers which are illegal. id rather change to the vr/vs setup. would be worth it compared to the bill you'd cop if something went wrong with the wheel spacers.

AN engineer's report along with an excemption letter from Transport SA and 20" are 100% mate, if done properly. I know Its_camo car is 100% legal in SA

That's why Dad sold our's. With an 8 or 10mm spacer you will need longer wheel studs.

Also i made a mistake the VP International wheels are 35P not 28P i just pulled our's off n noticed then

pretty sure stealthy summed this up in another thread:

Which basically is what I said depending on the offset you can work out how thick the spacer's need to be.
