I am currently replacing the inlet manifold gasket as my old one s*** itself, plus putting in a thermostat as the fool I bourght it off didn't put one in when the old one broke. Anyway I ahve come across this problem, this stupid pipe wont come out and its the only thing holding down the manifold, I have taken the bolt out and it still wont budge, I have tried prying it out but im not sure whether its giving in or its bending. Any help is good help I need it in asap. Pictures below.
that's the series one and i'm pretty sure that's where the pcv is on series 2.
can't really help you with it, but it might help if you have to describe the problem to anyone.
I got to change my inlet manifold gasket soon .. but I rather pay someone to do ..
that pipe joined to inlet manifold with a gasket ?
its possible that its seized on ..
if you got a gas bottle you could try heating it up at join and gently tap it ..

ghostrider, its not that hard of a job but this little pipe is a pain in the bum, I do think mabye it is seized on and I dont want to push it too much.
pow3r slave yeah its a reco motor so it could be a s1 but the car itself is a s2.
that looks like a nice new engine ...
weird the inlet manifold went ....
could it have been the bolts came loose because person who rebuilt engine did not torque them up right ?
i think anti seize is suppose to be put on that inlet pipe so it dont get stuck .. and you have tried giving it a good spray with wd40 & getting the big flat head screwdriver and lining it up dead centre where join is and giving that a whack ... ? just be careful not to damage the face otherwise you have to use a thicker gasket to cover it.If you hit it right on centre it should seperate even a little so you can spray more wd40 or whatever to soak in.
I was thinking of buying a gregs book and better set of tools so I can do work myself ... but I dont have the room to work on a car ..
