engine light and stopping during driving

our engine light has come on a few times so we cleaned the pod filter , this seemed to help for a while . now it is stopping during driving , we lose all power but not lights etc . it will start again but after what seems like 20 attempts , thanks

checked the error codes? there's a howto in the howto section.

sounds like Crank angle sensor........ These things are a big pain in the ass ....

car heats up and sensor is stuffed .. so car idles like crap or stalls until cools down ..

next time it happens get cold water or ice cubes ... and where the balancer is there is a wire that connects behind that .. well thats the sensor ... pour cold icy water over that sensor and your car should start right away ..

if what I said above not work then I would be looking at giving throttle body good clean , replace oxygen sensor...

it is winter at the moment so crank angle sensor will cool down quicker so start sooner than it would if it died in summer... then you have to wait like 30mins to restart car.
