what is a memcal unit?

hi just check for codes came up with code 51 , memcal unit . i looked at codes on here and it says check for bent pins . what is a memcal unit and wheres is it , how do u fix it , cheers

The memcal is the chip inside your ECU. Highly unlikely it suddenly has bent pins without some sort of mechanical damage to the enclosure. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in again. Failing that, try another memcal. I have several if you are near Chelsea in Vic.

The memcal resides inside the aluminium box next to the front left hand door pillar in the foot well. Remove the kick panel - it is behind there.
