I missed the post but anyway, incase anyone want's you know, you undo the cv shafts with a allen key, undo the tailshaft, undo the bolts holding the diff on and the mount and that's about it

Is there a way to remove the whole IRS as one piece?

Yes you can remove the whole lot, you seem them for sale mostly like that, they can be unbolted from the car as one unit
